Marriage License Requirements & Information

For Michigan residents, the license must be obtained in the county where the bride and groom live, but the license is valid statewide. The license fee for Charlevoix County residents is currently $20.00.

For those who live outside of Michigan, the license must be obtained from the county where the wedding will take place. A Charlevoix County marriage license for non-Michigan residents is currently $30.00.

The State of Michigan no longer requires blood tests or AIDS counseling courses. You do, however, need to acknowledge receipt of the booklet on AIDS counseling.
